Proposed trip to
Paris in the Springtime
Following the previous enjoyable excursions to the continent, Lionel Hall has put together the makings of another, this time to Paris.
The outward trip, on Thursday 10th May, would be on Brittany Ferries late evening sailing from Portsmouth to Caen. 2-berth inner cabins are included in the price, outer cabins available at a supplement. Not enough time to dine on board but the early arrival would get us to Paris by mid-morning on Friday 11th.
The hotel is yet to be decided but we have three from which to choose:
Novotel Chateau de Versailles (3*) Out of town hotel easily giving easy access to and from Caen and in and out of Central Paris.
Novotel Pont De Serves (4*) Business class hotel located on the edge of the central area (metro line 9 terminates at Pont se De Serves).
Hotel Mercure Ronceray (3*) Situated in the very centre of Paris. The nearest metro is Grand Boulevards but many of the top tourist sights are within walking distance. This hotel is the one featured on the accompanying pages.
Two nights b&b (continental style buffet) at the chosen hotel will give you time to explore and see the sights of Paris.
Returning on the early evening sailing, departing Caen at 1630, will give time to enjoy a group meal in the main restaurant (£22 supplement) before arriving back in Portsmouth at 2115 local time, and Southampton by 2300.
Please indicate your interest soonest and directly to Lionel Hall on 02380 282487. Around 15 couples would be needed to make the trip viable.
