PRINCESS ANNE ATTENDS SHIPPING FESTIVAL SERVICE AT WINCHESTER CATHEDRAL

A Shipping Festival Service was held at Winchester Cathedral yesterday evening (Thursday 13th June). The festival was a mark of thanks to the continuing prosperity of the shipping industry in Hampshire and for the seafarers who serve and contribute towards it.
This years annual service saw a royal visit by the Princess Royal – Princess Anne, accompanied by the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, the Mayor of Southampton and also the Mayor of Winchester.
The service has been held each year since 1930, apart from a break during World War Two.
